YASASHII means "gentle". We have designed this towel using exceptionally soft and safe gauze, similar to what is used for baby diapers and swaddling cloths.

A key feature of our towels is the use of Wasarashi, a traditional Japanese bleaching technique.

In the standard process of removing impurities from fabric, cotton is compressed with numerous chemicals in about 40 minutes, which crushes the fibers and makes the fabric stiffer.

In contrast, Wasarashi uses a special cauldron to boil the fabric for 28 hours, minimizing stress on the fibers. This allows the fibers to maintain their softness, creating a fabric so gentle it’s suitable for baby use.
